Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta

Ingredients (serves at least 4):
1 box of whole wheat linguine
2 lbs chicken breast
1 (16 oz.) bag of frozen chopped broccoli (optional)
4 garlic cloves; minced
salt and pepper
2/3 cup fat-free half-and-half
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
Meanwhile, chop chicken into 1-inch pieces and season generously with salt and pepper.
Cook chicken with garlic and canola oil in a sauté pan over medium-high heat.
While chicken is cooking, steam the frozen broccoli according to package directions; salt generously.
When everything is cooked, combine together the pasta, chicken, and broccoli into one pot; turn heat on low.
Stir in half-and-half, tomato sauce, parmesan cheese, cajun seasoning, onion powder, paprika, and dried parsley until thoroughly combined; add more salt and pepper if needed.
